Sachintha hails from FOLC, Sri Lanka. He was a part of the FOLC team that emerged champions at the NLS debate in 2009 and has been ranked within the top five speakers on each of the three occasions he took part in the NLSD. He also made the main break at UADC 2010 (Thailand) and UADC 2011 (Macau). In fact he has broken at every international university level debating tournament he has participated in, with the exception of WUDC 2013. However, he would say that probably his greatest debating achievement came at his only WUDC, where he ended up in a 16 point bubble room judged by Sheng Wu Li in the final preliminary round, a room from which two teams eventually made the main break.
He has represented Sri Lanka at WSDC in Cardiff 2006 and Seoul 2007. He was the coach of the Sri Lankan team for WSDC Athens 2009. He has been a part of the Adjudication core of the largest Parliamentary Debate in Sri Lanka for the past two editions and has also been an invited finals adjudicator at several prestigious local tournaments. In addition to debating Sachintha has also broken at the Phillip C. Jessup Moot Court competition and been ranked as a top 50 oralist two years in a row.
